I am so excited to once again say that we have a new associate photographer! Erin Lundy has been filling in for us for the past year, but has now officially joined our team and will primarily be working with our other amazing associate, Whitney Norko. These two have already proven to be quite the duo, and I am so proud to have them both on our team! Erin has her own photography business based out of Virginia and continues to shoot weddings there. She also does boudoir photography for any brides or ladies looking for something special for the man in their life! I asked Erin to tell us a little about herself…enjoy some silly and fun questions as well as some of her work!
Whitney and Erin still have some availability for 2013 and are currently booking for 2014. Email us at [email protected] for info about how you can book them for your wedding!
> What’s your story? Who are you?
Hi! I’m erin! Im a wife, mother, sister and photographer of awesome people. I am originally from norfolk va. I spent most of my high school years taking every single art class my school had to offer. I had a passion for photography, drawing and pottery. When I was accepted into savannah College if art and design I was ecstatic! I spent the next five years in GA soaking in the creative culture of art school while working on my B.F.A. in graphic design. After school I landed a few design jobs until eventually had my dream job working as an art director at an advertising agency. Somewhere in there I found myself looking for a creative outlet outside of work and I reclaimed my love for photography. I took a few photos of my friend’s pregnant belly just for fun and placed them online to share with friends. Soon i had all kinds of requests to photograph other things and it snowballed into a full blown business.
> Why the Outer Banks?
I am a beach girl at heart and after starting a family and living in the city it was time for a slower pace of life. Plus my family moved here after I graduated high school so it already felt like home.
> What are your hobbies/passions in life?
I love to go thrifting…before Makelmore said it was cool. I love the beach. I love exploring places I’ve never been. I love the simple things in life like spending time with my family.
> How and why did you get into photography?
I kinda already covered that one 🙂
> What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
I love that moment right after the first kiss and the couple turns to their guests. In that moment as they walk back down the isle they are so happy. Every couple is different…some throw their hands up in a “we did it” motion others can’t keep their eyes off one another. Either way it’s the best part.
> If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
My husband and I always talk about opening a restaurant that could be worthy of a visit from Guy Fieri. You know a place that the food is sooo bad for you but oh so good.
> What is your favorite…
My music tastes are all over the place. One day I will be editing photos listening to bluegrass the next day I will be at the gym crushing it on the elliptical listening to ludicrous. I guess it depends on my mood. Pandora is my friend.
I love all colors but at the moment I have a crush on aqua and orange.
I like taking walks or riding my bike with no destination in mind.
Anything Mexican. I could eat guacamole for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
> TV show?
I probably watch too much tv. My faves to watch with my hubby are The Walking Dead, Dexter and Sons of Anarchy. I also love The New Girl, The Office, Modern Family and I am pretty sure I have seen every single episode of Friends about 100 times…its just always funny!
That’s a really tough one…impossible to answer.
Fourth of July
> place to vacation?
Anywhere I’ve never been before. New places are the best.
> thing to do on a lazy day?
Watch tv in my pjs
> place to shop?
I have an unhealthy obsession with TJ max
Here on the beach my faves are kill devil grill, food dudes and viva. There are days I wish the closest Chick-fil-a wasn’t an hour away.
> This or that…
> morning or night? Night…I am not a morning person
> hot or cold? I don’t like the extremes…can I say warm?
> canon or Nikon? Canon
> dogs or cats? Both
> sweet or salty? I like sweet and salty together…chocolate covered pretzels are the best!
> chocolate or vanilla? If we are talking ice cream my vote goes to vanilla.
> 3 things you can’t leave the house without? Sunglasses, iPhone and my kids.
