For those of you unfamiliar with Ocracoke, it is a small island south of Hatteras, accessible only by ferry. The population is less than 1,000, so it is a place that seems like everyone would know everyone. Well, Jamie and Brian worked in close proximity of one another until a tragic day for Ocracoke brought their paths together. Almost two years ago, Ocracoke was preparing for their 4th of July fireworks display when the truck carrying the load suddenly exploded. Three people died and a few others were injured. Jamie was the Hyde County spokeswoman and had the heavy job of talking with press and family members. Brian, an EMT, was new to his job there and faced with an equally heavy situation. Unbeknownst to them, Jamie and Brian were each empathizing with one another’s situation, wanting to voice their support. Nether spoke at first opportunity, but it wasn’t long before the pull of their hearts brought them together.
They talked and texted for days and their love quickly grew into a lighthouse proposal. Chad will be shooting their wedding this September in Swan Quarter, so he took the lead and rocked out their engagement session. I just love the images and moments he captured! We met the couple in Ocracoke began at Springer’s Point. It was a scorcher of a day but well worth it for the beautiful canopy of trees. We also ventured around town and were lucky enough to catch a really beautiful sunset. Jamie & Brian, thank you for being a photographer’s dream! Chad can’t wait to see you guys very soon!
