Genevieve Stewart Photography & Films
3. A blogging machine: After checking out our website for tons more photos and info, make sure you hop on over to our blog to see the latest weddings, portrait sessions, and even get to know us better through some personal entries.
2. A husband and wife team, Genevieve & Chad, who shoot weddings on the Outer Banks as well as across the southeast, and are available for travel worldwide.
I was born and raised here on the Outer Banks. I met Chad when I was 17, and he was 16. He says he fell in love with me from the day he met me. We kept in touch off and on for years, reconnecting just before he moved to Oregon to play soccer. I stayed here to finish my degree in Wilmington, NC. A couple bumps and bruises along the way and the distance being too much for both of us, Chad moved in with me in Wilmington. The rest is history. We finally tied the knot ourselves in March of 2010 in beautiful Barbados with both of our immediate families.
We now have two daughters, Beyah and Lowry, who have become my inspiration in all that I do. Their innocence, desire to learn, and appreciation for life has made me re-evaluate and put into perspective the beauty around all of us. We love hanging with B and Low, hitting the beach and the sound as much as possible. Chad is obsessed with sports, even women’s table tennis. Joking…but only slightly ;) THE game is ALWAYS on, whatever game it may be. I love warm weather, antiques, decorating & redecorating, buying furniture from thrift stores, and sitting on our porch watching our crazy dogs run wild in the yard. Chad plays his guitar every second he can, even when I plead for a moment of silence. I am fascinated with Buddhism and love to learn about its philosophy. We both love going to see live music and antique auctions.
Make you work around our needs. Obviously, our goal is to take the best possible images of your day. However, there is a fine line between letting your photography dictate the flow and just being in the moment. You define this line, and we will follow.
Spend very much time tilting your head to the side, telling you to say cheese. We are photojournalists and prefer to let the moments fall where they may.
Be on time. And by on time, we mean early. If we are unfamiliar with a location, we will most likely go there before we meet up with you, just to check things out.
Be calm, flexible, and easy to work with.
Capture beautiful, elegant, and REAL moments, even ones you didn’t know happened!
Be in love! We can’t capture romantic images if you aren’t romantic, happy moments if you aren’t happy, or emotional moments if you aren’t emotional.
Forget that we’re there. You should have plenty of other things on your minds! Relax and trust that we are doing what we do best.
Keep the family groupings to a minimum. Everyone will be ready to head for the cocktail hour ten minutes into the portraits!
